Dramatic video captures the moments a stranded construction worker was saved from certain death after he was trapped on the ledge of a burning building.

The Houston Fire Department is receiving praise after rescuing a trapped construction worker and taming a 5-Alarm fire in 2400 block of W. Dallas on March 25, 2014.

Karen Jones shot the dramatic video from the AIG campus near the scene of the fire. The video shows the construction worker on the 4th-floor balcony of the building as he was waits for help. At one point because of the rapidly increasing fire, the construction worker hangs off the ledge and drops onto a balcony below.

The construction worker was eventually rescued and the fire that destroyed the large apartment complex under construction is under control. The cause of the fire has not yet determined but is under investigation.
