UFC Suspends Nate Diaz For Homophobic Tweet


The UFC suspended fighter – Nate Diaz for tweeting a homophobic slur on twitter when defending a fellow fighter for being striped of his prize money because of failing a drug test.

The UFC released the following statement regarding Nate Diaz’s “homophobic rant”:

“We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization, Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided.”

Diaz’s manager – Mike Kogan claimed that the suspension and $20,000 fine was unjust as Nate Diaz did not use the slur in a derogatory manner or homophobic context. Kogan says this was like to guys sitting on the corner calling one another a b*tch.

Nate and brother Nick Diaz have always been in the center of controversy during their professional fighting career. The two admitting they smoke weed and Nate being suspended a year for testing positive for marijuana after UFC 143 in 2012.
