Isaiah Austin was destined to be one of the top drafts in this 2014 NBA draft but his dreams were cut short after learning he had been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects the body’s connective tissue.
Despite the discovery, Isaiah Austin did not let his diagnosis stop him from pursuing his dreams and having a positive outlook on his years to come. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver helped to recognize Isaiah Austin’s dream by calling his name on behalf of the league during the 2014 NBA Draft.
