New Jersey Governor – Chris Christie and the cast of Jersey Shore had an awkward encounter backstage after filming their separate segments on the “Today” Show. They were all there for the official opening for Memorial Day Weekend and Summer 2013 at the Seaside Heights Boardwalk.
As Governor Christie meets Snooki, she immediately tells him he is standing too close to her which prompts Governor Christie to lean in even closer. After Deena throws in her two cents that nobody cares about, Snooki and Gov. Christie shake hands. Snooki tells Gov. Christie – “I just wanted to meet you, and just, hope you start to like us.”
Governor Christie does his best to act civil with the trio and cordially shakes all of their hands before leaving. Snooki tweeted the above picture with the caption: “Getting told why we are bad for jersey. Amazing. ✋”
