If you really think about it, the Hack was in response to the way consumers were being treated by Sony. Sony now showed their true colors by handling this hack the way they did. The hack only proved that Sony does not care about their consumers. This I believe was the true intention of the hack. It worked like a charm. Whoever hacked into Sony, knew that Sony had no consumer relations (or had a horrible PR team) and would fall apart when having to explain themselves and relaying information to their consumers. This in my opinion was genius.
