Comedy legend Joan Rivers is currently on life support after the ‘Fashion Police’ star was rushed to the hospital due to complications in a recent throat surgery.
Joan Rivers was reported to have stopped breathing while during throat surgery for her vocal chords. Rivers was also believed to have gone into cardiac arrest and it was unknown if doctors were able to restart her heart. Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in New York where daughter Melissa Rivers released a statement saying her mother was “resting comfortably”.
Melissa Rivers took to her mother’s Facebook page to release the following statement regarding the outpouring of well-wishes from the public. “My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world.” Melissa continues, “Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
Now reports indicate that Rivers is on life support and the family has a few days to decide what they want to do. The family is remaining hopeful that the 81-year-old comic will make a turn for the better.
