If you haven’t heard, former SNL cast member – Jimmy Fallon is set to take over ‘The Tonight Show’ from that spineless coward Jay Leno. Jimmy Fallon is currently hosting “Late Night” but NBC has reported he will switch shows beginning in February. ‘The Tonight Show’ is also set to move to New York’s ’30 Rock’.
The news follows months of speculation as to who would take over for Jay Leno when he retires. Jimmy Fallon among Jimmy Kimmel and even Howard Stern were all said to have been in the running. Among all the candidates, Jimmy Fallon seemed to be most fit with his ability to do celebrity impressions and humble demeanor putting in in that “Johnny Carson” category.
Lorne Michales – the master mind behind SNL and current producer to Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night” show will also produce “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.
As you would expect, all of the Late Night hosts are taking cracks at Leno as he probably is the most hated man in Late Night but many are congratulating Jimmy Fallon.
Hopefully this works out for Jimmy Fallon as NBC and Jay Leno “passed the torch” before but to Conan O’Brien back in 2004 then rippied it away not too long after Jay’s failed move to prime time.
congratulations to my dear, sweet @jimmyfallon – a formidable rival and an incredible lover
