Taco Bell Employee Who Called 911 on Deaf Customer FIRED!
The video which has since gone viral, shows an Ohio Taco Bell employee refusing service to Brandon Washburn, a deaf man at the drive-thru.
Washburn attempted to make a purchase at the Taco Bell but because he is deaf, he pulled up to the window to show the Taco Bell employee his order which was written on his phone.
To his surprise, the Taco Bell employee refused service stating that it was “against company policy” to take his order that way. When Washburn didn’t leave, the Taco Bell employee then called 911.
A Taco Bell rep issued the following statement:
“Taco Bell has a fundamental policy to respect all of our customers and employees, and we are committed to maintaining an environment free of discrimination or harassment. The franchise owner and operator of this location has investigated this situation and the team member no longer works for their organization. All team members at this restaurant are being retrained by the franchise owner on their policies.”
When the police arrived, they informed the Taco Bell employee that Washburn had done nothing wrong and even offerd to buy his food.
