“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” Actor – Uncle Phil Dies At 68

James Avery better known as Uncle Phil from the hit sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” has died at the age of 68-years-old. ALthough James Avery starred in many television shows, most will remember him as Judge Phillip Banks, the caring uncle to Will Smith.

According to reports, Avery had undergone open heart surgery in an Glendale, CA hospital and it sadly took a turn for the worse.

Avery’s wife, Barbara, was said to have been at bedside with him shortly before he had passed.
