Photographer – Carlos Miller says he was “attacked, choked, suffocated and handcuffed by 50 State security guards” all because he was filming on the Miami Dade Metro Rail Platform.

Here you see Carlos Miller and a friend – Ed, who say they were simply taking photographs on the Miami Dade Courthouse on their way home from watching a football game, but a voice over the loud-speaker told them to stop.

A short while later two Miami Dade Metro Rail Security guards approach Carlos and his friend and tell them that filming the rails was illegal and that they had to leave.

When Carlos gets defiant with the security guard, he is then accused of being drunk. Carlos does admit to drinking but says he only had 3 drinks in the span of 2 hours while watching the football game.

When a 3rd security guard is called – R. Myer, the situation escalates into an all out brawl between Carlos and the guards. Carlos says he only began to push back when he felt the guards were attempting to throw him over the escalator. Carlos’ friend watches in horror as he continues to record and try to de-escalate the situation.

The men begin to struggle as they approach the escalator and the video goes out. The video then resumes with Carlos in a choke-hold given by R. Myer which Carlos describes as feeling like he was going to die.

The two men were arrested and cited $100 for “producing loud or excessive noise,” but oddly enough not for resisting or public intoxication. Carlos says he will be pressing charges.
