When the Kardashian family panicked hearing that there will be no more chocolate Ding Dongs, they didn’t realize it was in reference to the ‘Hostess’ company.
After Hostess – the brand behind legendary snack foods like ‘Ding Dongs’, ‘Wonder Bread’, and ‘Twinkies’ was forced to shut it’s doors after a Bakers strike crippled the already unsteady future of the company.
Hostess CEO Gregory Rayburn said:
We’ve been very straight forward that the business can’t withstand the significant work stoppage, If this strike continues, there is certainly a risk that Hostess will go out of business.
The Bakers decided to strike after hearing a proposal from the company imposing a contract that would cut wages by 8 percent. The contract would also cut benefits by 27 to 32 percent as well as diminish health benefits and demand longer work days.
