Clothing giant H&M is receiving a social media backlash after an ad showing a young African American child in a sweater with the words: “Coolest Monkey In The Jungle” written on it.
To make matters worse, H&M has a caucasion child in the same line of clothing however, his shirt reads: Mangrove Jungle “Survival Expert”
Celebrities like NBA phenom LeBron James took to social media to voice their dis-appreciation with the popular clothing brand.
@hm u got us all wrong! And we ain't going for it! Straight up! Enough about y'all and more of what I see when I look at this photo. I see a Young King!! The ruler of the world, an untouchable Force that can never be denied! We as African Americans will always have to break barriers, prove people wrong and work even harder to prove we belong but guess what, that's what we love because the benefits at the end of the road are so beautiful!! #LiveLaughLove❤️ #LoveMyPeople🤴🏾👸🏾👨🏾⚖️👩🏾⚖️
Musical artist “The Weekend” took to Twitter to state he was “shocked and embarrassed” and will be ending his relationship with the clothing store.

The retailer said Monday that the “image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we sincerely apologize to anyone this may have offended.”
“We understand that many people are upset about the image. We, who work at H&M, can only agree,” H&M said Monday in a statement to The Washington Post. “We are deeply sorry that the picture was taken, and we also regret the actual print. Therefore, we have not only removed the image from our channels, but also the garment from our product offering globally.
“It is obvious that our routines have not been followed properly. This is without any doubt. We will thoroughly investigate why this happened to prevent this type of mistake from happening again.”
Here’s our argument. Not that H&M isn’t extremely dumb for even having this item available, but why isn’t there any backlash against the child’s parents? I mean, they must have singed off on this right? They most certainly cashed the check. What do you think?
