A college teen’s story is quickly going viral when she commits suicide after being harassed for her choice to appear in an adult film.
Alyssa Funke,19, attended he University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where she was a straight-A student but when she appeared in an adult film, things quickly spiraled down into torment from former Stillwater Area High School peers in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota.
Recent replies from others give you an idea of how ignorant people can be when given the chance to say something with the protection of hiding their identity behind a screen name.
One man identified by a Facebook user as John Delon Lane was one of the main people who harassed Funke. This caused a social media lynch mob who posted the man’s info and place of employment in retaliation.
Funke’s last Facebook post showed the constant harassment and stalking, was becoming a little too much to bare for her.
On April 16th, 2014 ALyssa Funke committed suicide at a boat landing on Big Carnelia Lake and although Funke’s family believes cyber-bullying played a major part in her death, Washington County Sheriff’s Office does not think the taunts rise to the level of criminal harassment.
This is when you need to delete your social media and stop worry about it. OR…OR! Do not star in an adult film because you WILL get feedback.
Such a cutie too, what a waste. This poor girl clearly made a mistake and was remorseful but tried to put a smile on her face when she was hurting inside. For people to attack this girl was wring and need to be punished to the full extent of the law.
