LiLo’s Trip To NYC Rehab

Remember when Lindsay Lohan lied to authorities stating she wasn’t the driver in her loaner Porsche that crashed into a dump truck in Santa Monica freeway last June? Well, her lie finally caught up to her.

She was once known for her career as an actress with movie hits like “The Parent Trap,” Disney’s remake of “Freaky Friday,” and “Mean Girls” but for the last few years, she has been better known for her crazy rendezvous, drunken driving and run-ins with the law.

Although the troubled star pleaded no contest to lying to police and reckless driving, she ended her latest courtroom shenanigans last Monday by accepting a plea deal. Judge James Dabney will not put LiLo in jail for her misdemeanor / car-wreck case but will put her in a New York rehab center for 90 days instead. Dabney told Lohan, “A suggestion, don’t drive. You’re in New York. You don’t need to drive.” Apparently, she will be in a residential treatment center with no day passes, meaning she will not be able to leave.

In 2010, she was ordered to spend 90 days in UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital but was released after only 22 days, only to fail a drug test the following month resulting in yet another two and a half months at the Betty Ford Clinic.

While dealing with her Santa Monica fiasco, Lohan was already on probation for a 2011 shoplifting conviction. She could have been given up to eight months in jail this time but instead Judge Dabney is forcing the starlet to complete 18 months of psychological counseling and 30 days of community service. Dabney warned “You violated your probation; we’re not going to be having discussions about another deal.”

When regular folks get in trouble, they don’t have much slack when it comes to their punishment. If courts weren’t so flexible and have given LiLo some real jail time, perhaps she would have already cleaned up long ago. Hopefully, she will learn her lesson this time and not end up like the late Amy Winehouse, a young talented woman with a sad ending.
