Mom Blames Harmony Safari Park After Kangaroo Acts Like Kangaroo

In what some are describing as negligence, a mom is blaming the Harmony Safari Park in Madison, Alabama after their daughter got tangled up with a Kangaroo requiring the little girl get 14-stitches.

The video shows 9-year-old Cheyenne and her little sister walking closely and interacting with the # Erwin The Kangaroo while the mother Jennifer White films despite there being a sign on the fence saying “I Bite”.

White believes the park provided support for her daughter. Ms. White believes the park owners should do more to protect visitors, including providing a tighter fence with a physical barrier. Pointing to a sign simply isn’t enough. The girl needed 14 stitches to her ear.

Operators of a wild animal park in north Alabama say they will put up an additional barrier between the public and the animal’s pen. But Erwin, the kangaroo, will remain at the park.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed to AL.com news partner WHNT News 19 Monday that a complaint has been filed against Harmony Park Safari in the incident. It’s the second complaint against the park south of Huntsville near the Tennessee River, the spokeswoman told the station. Both will now be reviewed.
