RICHMOND, Va. — The man identified as Earl Valentine who was wanted for killing his son, and shooting his ex-wife inside a Norlina, North Carolina home Tuesday morning is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Valentine traveled to Richmond after killing his 15-year-old son and shooting his ex-wife Tuesday. Valentine then headed to South Carolina where he was believed to have had family and friends. During his travel, Valentine recorded a confession on Facebook Live minutes after the shootings, saying he killed his wife.
“She lied on me, had warrants taken out on me. She drug me all the way down to nothing. I loved my wife but she deserved what she had coming. Pleasure knowing all of y’all, I been very sick for months and this is something I could not help. So I don’t know if I’ma make it were I’m going but if I don’t, I wish all of you a good life…”
Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew says Earl Valentine committed suicide when surrounded by investigators inside a Columbia, South Carolina motel room Wednesday evening.
