VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) — Video taken at a Starbucks shows a man in his underwear being viciously attacked, an attack which sent the victim to the hospital with severe facial injuries. Video taken by Santino Filipelli shows the victim identified as Roldan Robledo, being attacked by his neighbor James Neal who according to Robledo is a schizophrenic.
Santino Filipelli – “Sitting in Starbucks this morning with Myra Brock talking business and then this happens.”
The altercation occurred Tuesday morning after Neal believed the victim stole his TV remote, court documents show. Two bystanders jumped in to help Roldan Robledo as he was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head.
Neal appeared in Clark County Court on Wednesday. He allegedly told court officials he is a diagnosed schizophrenic who also suffers from bipolar disorder.
The fight is believed to have started inside Robledo’s apartment, before he ran to a nearby Starbucks. After the altercation inside the coffee shop, Robledo was taken to the hospital for treatment of facial injuries, court records show.
“I was pretty scared… I didn’t know where to go,” Robledo said. “He got me on my eye and on the bridge of my nose… I am feeling sore and just tired and traumatized.”
Neal is facing charges of second-degree assault and second-degree burglary. The 35-year-old suspect is being held on $25,000 bail.
