Stafford Township Gas Main Break and Explosion

Video taken from a police cruiser’s dash cam shows the moments a house on Oak Avenue exploded Tuesday morning, leaving 15 people injured.

Stafford Township residents were without power after a gas main exploded injuring 15 and leaving more than 300 people without power. Injuries to 4 of the victims were described as non-life-threatening, while 2 were flown to the hospital and last reported to be in critical condition. Among the 15 people injured were 7 New Jersey Natural Gas workers, 6 firefighters and 2 EMTs.

New Jersey Natural Gas workers have been working through the night in an effort to repair the ruptured line that knocked out gas and precious heat to 300 houses. Dozens of homes had been evacuated, but by 6 p.m. residents of all but three homes had been allowed to return.
