New SNL Featured Player – Pete Davidson Saves “Weekend Update”

The new season of Saturday Night Live debuted the new “Weekend Update” team of Colin Jost and Michael Che but if you ask many people who watched the show, there was one new cast member that saved the segment from an otherwise very long and disappointing debut.

SNL celebrated 40-years on being on the air and introduced a few new featured players including Brooklyn comic – Pete Davidson who stole the show during his debut “Weekend Update” segment as the resident young person.

Pete Davidson Talks Business and discusses the crazy things young people do all the time like the “How much money would you go down on a guy for game” Pete explains, “Well for those of you who don’t know what the game is, it’s basically one of you friends will be like, “hey man would you go down on a guy for a million dollars? and then we would all lie and be like “No.” From that point on, Davidson became the new shining light on SNL.

Too bad the same couldn’t have been said for anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che who both seemed very uncomfortable and shared no immediate chemistry with one another. Michael Che replaced the popular Cecily Strong in a controversial decision that was made by SNL head-honcho Lorne Michaels.

“Weekend Update” became a trending topic on Twitter with many people expressing their discontent saying the segment seemed too “long”. Others were disappointed with having two males saying the best “Update” anchors have always been women. Tell us what you think.
